Farm favorite for summertime: Frozen fruit

FPMG - Tue Jul 1, 2:00AM CDT

Listen. It’s hot out. Frozen fruit is our favorite thing. It’s a snack, it’s a lunch, it’s a breakfast, it’s even a dinner. It’s whatever you want because it’s really hot out.

And no, I’m not regularly a food blogger, but we l.o.v.e. this recipe, and based on the heat index, I figured you might, too. Plus, it’s super easy. You open stuff and dump it in a big bowl. I started freezing the mixture in Dixie punch cups forever ago, because nothing’s easier to grab and go than that. They’re great in the barn, super in the camper, ideal if you’re putting up a bin or building fence or any other ridiculously hot summer activity.

Tip: Use muffin tins to carry them to the freezer. If you have kids, fill a few halfway for just the right size for them. This recipe makes 20 to 25 cups, depending on how full you fill them.

Enjoy!

Frozen Fruit

1 can frozen lemonade, thawed
1 can frozen orange juice, thawed
2 large containers frozen, sweetened strawberries, thawed
1 can fruit cocktail
2 cans crushed pineapple
3-5 sliced bananas, depending on preference
2 cups blueberries (or whatever you have/like)
Optional: ½ cup mini chocolate chips, give or take

Dump it all into the biggest bowl you have, stir it up, and ladle into Dixie punch cups. Freeze and eat!
